10 Red, STB-ACS, 2009/2010

17 July 2009, the Orientation day
I saw a girl with long hair, raising her hand when Mr Rusty asked who are on the grade 10 that time. I was excited as there would be another girl in my class, apart from Joshua and Faisal who are boys. I also met some nice teachers who were so friendly. at the end of the Orietation day, we were sent to our homeroom together with Ms Julie whose birthday was on the same day. I really loved the atmosphere in this school. I was looking forward to begin my day as a 10R student in STB-ACS.

21 July 2009, the beginning of the First Quarter
I entered the PAT together with Joshua and Della. (if I am not mistaken, Faisal was absent on that day). we sang the ACS anthem with pride and smile. enthusiasm was brought along the assembly. after that we had homeroom time to discuss rules and stuffs. then, the long adventure began...

Indonesian class
we moved to the 10Y classroom. I chose a random seat. I thought this was going to be the easiest subject and my most favorite subject of the year. but it was not! haha. the slim teacher started asking our names, and she said that we should be better than the 10Y students because in SMP, Indonesian was the language that we spoke everyday. wait, we did not know her name. the lesson ended very fast and she didnt even tell us her name! wah! few days after that, we found out from the 10Y students that her name was Ibu Dossy.

Chemistry class
a pretty teacher with curly hair came in, and another woman was following behind. the woman sat at the back, watching the curly-haired-teacher teaching. she began with a lame but warm introduction of Chemistry. we didnt know what to say, and so we stayed quiet. in this strange situation, Ibu Widya spoke up, telling us to be more active (or very reactive like the group I metals) and just speak. if we are not confident enough speaking English, she suggested us to speak Bahasa because Ms Cindy does speak Bahasa as well. a few minutes after that, she left us and we spent the remaining time with Ms Cindy.

Additional Math class
a slim lady with brown hair came in, bringing a laptop. she spoke SUPERRRRR fast. we could not get what she was trying to say. and finally she went out for a while (we didnt know where she was going), leaving an algebra worksheet for us to do. we did not even know her name, but we saw a word document on her laptop, with the name ANNIE NG below. oh, Ms Annie. then she came back. lets pretend to do the worksheet!! then she started talking again, with the rushing speed.

English class
the teacher with brown long hair came in. oh this was our homeroom teacher. I remembered Ms Fira, the one who taught us in the English foundation program for about one month. so this was Ms Julie who will be teaching us English, continuing from what we had learnt in the foundation program. she got a really different accent with Ms Fira as well as the style of teaching. as our English teacher as well as our HRT, we discussed a bit about other stuffs apart from English too.

Biology class
a handsome and young guy came in. so, this was our Biology teacher??? woahhhhh interesting! but then when he started talking, it was revealed that the school was still looking for a Biology teacher to teach us, and so for that time along, we would have Math instead of Biology in every Biology period. as a result, we had 4 periods of Math on every single day, plus 2 periods of Chem and 2 periods of English. to be honest, I prefer Math to Bio because I could never do well in Bio. ok forget it. oh anyway his name was Ivan. then, the lousy but fun lesson started.

Physical Education class
I saw the tall expat teacher again. yes, Mr Rusty. we started with a brief talk in the beginning, and then we were warming up. the warm up session was so tough for me. firstly because I didnt get used to it, secondly because I am just not good at it. I meant, at sport. idk, I just feel talentless for it. I had always tried to do my best, but I still could not do. ok never mind. I reckoned that some of the 10Y boys could be real famous athletes. they are TALENTED! unlike me -_- gahhh. ok next!

PD class
here came the Reverend whom we often saw reading the morning devotion in the VP Briefing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. he was a really nice and wise man. we really looked up to him. he told us stories about what happened in our life and how people should react to such situations. these stories had inspired me in everything I do.

Religion class
Joshua and I got to move to 10Y classroom. there were three classes for religion class; Christian, Moslem and Moral & Ethics. in the Christian class, we met Pak Denny again. we got to bring our own Bibles, but I noticed that some of the 10Y students hardly brought their Bibles! tsktsk...

the adventure continued along. we became closer and closer to the core teachers whom we met everyday. we talked to them a lot. especially Ms Annie and Ms Cindy. towards the early August 2009, Ivan told us that he was about to leave STB, because he got to continue his study in the US. I was really worried because that would mean that we got to start studying Biology. so far I had enjoyed the Math classes with him but then he left; and we started studying Biology soon.

on the other day, Ms Cindy introduced a woman wearing glasses, named Ibu Sylvia. she was our real Biology teacher. we started studying Biology in the middle of August, a little bit rushing but it went quite well. oh not so well because I failed some Bio tests lol.

by the end of this quarter, there was a new Chemistry teacher named Mr Roy. he was teaching us for a not so long period. if i am not mistaken, he was teaching us for 1 week only.

the first quarter was about to end, and we got bunch of homework to do. well, at least we got something to do at home. the two weeks holiday went fast enough. as the time passed by, I did not realise that two weeks holiday was so short and I had not finished the homework.

29 September 2009, the Second Quarter began
there was a tall boy named Giri joining our class. it was so nice having a new classmate, because our class was really small and 5 is better than 4 hehe. the semestral exams were coming up and we were offered to take some IGCSE examinations. we were encouraged to take ESL, A Math, Chemistry and Biology. but it was all up to us what subject we want to take and what subjects we dont want to take.

not so many interesting stuffs had happened in this quarter; but good and bad ones did happen. everyday brought a challenge that we needed to face; and everyday was a new page of the book of the life which we needed to write on.

6 January 2010, the Third Quarter began
Della moved school to Global Jaya. she got to leave us because of some reasons. so 10R only had Joshua, Faisal, Giri and me left behind. this made me feel so upset, and actually some teachers were really worried about this. I appreciate the fact that you care. thank you. being the only girl in class is a great experience for me. everything seemed different, but they sometimes leave me out. gaahhhhh! hate you.

Ms Cindy had been too busy teaching the grades 9. then Ms Renny came as a hero, taking over 10R's Chemistry classes for the whole semester. I was quite shocked that Ms Cindy was not gonna teach us anymore, but then I found that Ms Renny's class was also fun and I enjoyed Chemistry classes with her.

after some discussions with many people, Joshua, Faisal and I chose to take the four IGCSE subjects, and Giri chose to take ESL and A Math only. some time after that, we are offered to do IBDP instead of A level. this battle was lousy; 3 VS 1. as you knew, we are finally gonna do IBDP.

Business class
there was a new teacher. another young guy with his blue glasses. I need to admit that Mr Nico is very diligent, but he might not be a good teacher. he seldom taught us seriously and he never gave us any tests apart from the semestral exam. however he had helped me a lot in other subjects, especially Bio. thank you Mr Cheapskate.

5 April 2010, the Fourth Quarter began
time goes so fast, this had been the last term of this academic year. it took time to choose the IBDP subjects, but finally we four are going to be together in Indo A1 and English B classes. for the other classes, we are not gonna be completely together. this surprisingly makes me sad, for a reason which I also do not even know. ok forget about it. Ivan is gonna come back in middle May. it is good as he could encourage me more in the IGCSE exams.

12 May 2010, our last normal lesson day
time goes really really fast. I enjoy every single precious moment we had together. all the excitements and quarrels had helped us growing into maturity. you three would never know how much I love the jokes you made everyday. the ways we cheat our teachers sometimes make me laugh. I agree that Giri is the class' joker. however, now we will have IGCSE exams very soon. I hope that we could do our best and we could pass and everybody would get "A"s for every subject.

then, after all the exams, there would be less chance to meet each other. even with teachers. Ms Julie and Ms Annie are gonna quit. Mr Nico is gonna continue his study in SG. Ms Renny would probably be teaching in Primary School. Ms Cindy and Bu Sylvia would be teaching in Lower Secondary School. Bu Dossy would not be teaching Indo A1 IBDP. so we are all gonna be separated. I am gonna be missing everybody. the teachers teaching me next year might not be as lenient as the teachers teaching me this year. and my classmates next year might bring a different atmosphere with what my classmates now has brought.

I am gonna drop tears, but not in front of anybody else, because I got to stay cool ;D :P
all the best for everybody!
GBU~
xoxo <3
